Does photographing a nude body always constitute fine art photography?

Every time I see semi-nude or fully nude photoshoots, most people think of them as pin-ups. In reality, they can be an awareness campaign, a way to raise people's awareness of certain things happening in society today.

We often see news of sexual assault and feel that there are more and more cases nowadays. However, the cases we don't see are actually more numerous. There are also many people who choose not to report, silently enduring threats and the fear of gossip if exposed, and even discrimination against homosexual individuals, along with a host of unequal treatment. Some families and the public even condemn the victim, commonly known as "blame the victim."

Regardless of gender, everyone has autonomy over their own body, and no one has the right to interfere or cause harm. You are the owner of your body. If someone tries to harm you or has already harmed you, please do not suffer in silence. Speak up bravely to prevent others from suffering the same fate. Likewise, do not despise yourself; you have done nothing wrong.

In addition to physical harm, verbal abuse is also not to be overlooked. With the development of the internet and freedom of speech, anyone has the right to express their thoughts online. However, freedom of speech is often abused and becomes a channel to hurt others.

“Wearing an M or L means you're fat; why would you dare to take pictures like that when you're so swollen? I wouldn't show my face to anyone.” Does this sound familiar? That's right. If you've been online, you've definitely seen comments like these; these comments about “bodies.”
This shoot is in response to people's calls for body autonomy and to encourage self-love for one's body at all times.
Students had the privilege of participating in this photoshoot, doing makeup and styling for the models. They learned to approach the work with a neutral, professional attitude and spirit, rather than making “body” jokes. The students also witnessed the live shoot, observing the professional attitude of every staff member, both male and female, who worked with respect. The academy's teachers also actively supported this meaningful shoot, with one of them becoming a model ❤️

When they first learned it involved taking semi-nude photos, the students were quite nervous. They hadn't experienced anything like it before, so nervousness was unavoidable, along with some ingrained stereotypes about “the body.” Once on set, the students adjusted their mindset, approached the work with a professional attitude to fulfill the job requirements, and simultaneously learned about the dynamics of such a photoshoot. This was definitely a valuable experience for them.
Regardless of gender, cherish your own body, appreciate your own beauty, and be the master of your own body ❤️
