When makeup artists quote prices, many people have a question mark over their heads ❓ Why does different makeup and styling have different prices!
‘Why is there such a big price difference between makeup for general evening banquets, registration makeup, and bridal makeup?’
‘Why is bridal makeup more expensive?’
Actually, this is the same principle as when you order food in a restaurant.
In different environments, if you order a plate of white rice, a plate of kampung fried rice, and a plate of XO seafood fried rice, all three are rice, but their prices and values will definitely be different.
Because the requirements, material quality, and time costs are all different.
Makeup is the same way.
The need for different types of makeup, the details to focus on, product selection, and time commitment all vary.
The price will naturally vary.
1. General evening banquet makeup and styling
Generally, clients attending evening banquets are usually guests, and their attire is primarily cocktail dresses or smart casual clothing. Therefore, the makeup and hairstyle requirements are generally not very elaborate. The products needed and the styling steps are relatively fewer. For evening banquet styling, we typically only need to create a look that suits the occasion, matches the attire, and is suitable for the client. The aim is to avoid overshadowing the host, so fewer intricate details need to be focused on, and the styling time is relatively shorter.
2. Makeup Artist Registration
As brides-to-be are the center of attention on their wedding day, registration makeup requires more careful consideration of hair and makeup details compared to general banquet makeup. When consulting with clients, we usually inquire about the bride's outfit, the registration time and location, the type of registration ceremony, whether it will be mostly outdoors or indoors, if there will be a photographer present, and any celebratory activities after the registration. These factors are taken into account when matching the hairstyle and makeup to the client's overall look and help us select the appropriate products and pay close attention to detail. Therefore, the styling process for registration makeup typically takes a bit longer than for banquet makeup.
3. Bride's Makeup
Marriage is a major event in life, and the bride in her exquisite wedding dress is the most eye-catching focus of the entire wedding. Therefore, bridal makeup is different from ordinary makeup and appears exceptionally solemn and grand. Generally, when we receive inquiries from brides, we first understand the schedule for the actual wedding day, the location, the bride's dress choices, whether she needs help choosing, and the basic flow of her actual wedding day. After reaching an agreement, we remind the bride about pre-wedding skincare preparations about a month before the wedding and provide tips for picking up her wedding dress from the bridal shop, and so on. Because the overall aesthetic presentation of the bridal look is very important, and it's a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, a wedding is a moment of happiness for every girl. Therefore, every detail, from hairstyles, makeup, accessories, the choice of wedding dress style, veil, pre-makeup skincare product selection, and makeup product selection, must be long-lasting and waterproof. The bouquet and the bride's temperament must all be meticulously crafted. Because every detail needs to be done perfectly, a stylist will generally not take on any other clients on the actual wedding day once they have booked a bride for both morning and evening looks. This is also why bridal styling typically incurs higher time costs.

Do you understand now?
Each hairstyle is a masterpiece that stylists meticulously create based on analysis of needs and differences.
Makeup isn't just filling in your facial features like coloring in a picture.
To handle each client's case well and make clients more beautiful is the mission of every stylist.
And we also hope everyone can understand that this mission is not as easy as it may seem on the surface.
Every profession has its own experience value, quality, and service demands. If a profession isn't profitable on its own, should the makeup artistry industry disappear and have everyone learn and do it themselves online? We can loudly say this is impossible.
I hope everyone in society adjusts their mindset to respect their own profession and the professions of others.
